Mouhamadou Ngom aka Modou is part of the team that installed the first Senegalese Fablab.
He is the Founder of the digital laboratory Senfablab located in Grand-Yoff, one of the busiest districts of Dakar in Senegal.
Senfablab is a mobile laboratory for pupils and students, offering training in computer science, robotics, and 3D printing. It is a space for creativity, learning, prototyping and sharing, as well as the popularization of digital technologies, the promotion of learning and training by doing, and the creation of educational technologies.
Modou organizes training sessions for teachers, and digital embroidery for seamstresses.
His main objective is to support young people, women, craftsmen and people with reduced mobility in the use of digital technology through these major axes:
- Education – Training for young people to facilitate their socio-economic activities
- Handilab space – to support people living with a disability and their socio-professional integration; with the Senfablab; he intervenes throughout the national territory, in urban and rural areas.
Modou intends to transform obstacles into assets for development by empowering young people and women from all social categories without discrimination through DIY.
